How to use SyRoTek

A guideline for none Czech Technical University students and researchers

It is strongly recommended to follow these steps consequently to successfully run your first application on the SyRoTek platform.

  • Register yourself using the registration form. Once system administrators confirm your registration (you should get an email with the confirmation within few days), you get an account on the SyRoTek system.

  • Download and install Player Robot Device Interface adapted for SyRoTek, Stage adapted for SyRoTek, NetBeans and SyRoTek Plugin for Netbeans from download page, using the instructions in there. Another possibility is to install your system using the Linux distribution, available at download page too, with all the components included.

  • Log into the SyRoTek system with the login link.

  • Enroll into a course, provided by the SyRoTek system, from your list of available courses. It may happen that a confirmation from a teacher of the course is required for the enrolment into a course, which takes time. In both cases, you will be informed via an email regarding the status of your request.

  • Once, you are enrolled into a course, you can start implementation of your applications towards accomplishing of tasks in the course. For this purpose, you should run Netbeans with SyRoTek plug-in and follow the instructions in Chapter 3 of the user’s manual available in English version and Czech version.

  • Before testing your code with real SyRoTek robots, you need to make a reservation of the arena, which can be easily done through the on-line reservation system accessible with the buttons in the list of tasks in your course description. To see all recent reservations, you can simply the reservation system.

  • Beside the solving of practical tasks with robots, you may be also required to make some quizzes with theoretical questions to successfully accomplish your course. You will find a link and instructions within the description of each course. In there, you can find also a table showing your results in solving both, the courses as well as the quizzes.
